BRIANA ALMONTE   VIOLIN

Briana Almonte is a violinist and current undergraduate at Montclair State University’s John J. Cali School of Music, where she studies with Grammy Award–winning violinist Ilmar Gavilan. Growing up in the Bronx, NY, Briana developed a musical voice that reflects both her classical training and the richness of her cultural heritage.
Her passion for music began at age 12, leading her from middle school orchestras to concertmaster roles in high school and beyond. Briana earned full scholarships to several programs, including the Bloomingdale School of Music and the Cali School of Music, where she has refined her artistry through intensive mentorship and performance opportunities.
She has performed in venues including Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, and the United Palace, and has shared the stage with acclaimed artists and ensembles such as the Cavani Quartet, Time for Three, and Attacca Quartet. She also took part in the premiere of Halftime with Jennifer Lopez. Briana has furthered her studies at major summer festivals such as the Brevard Music Center, Sewanee Summer Music Festival, and Kinhaven Music School.
Passionate about Romantic repertoire, contemporary works, and collaborative performance, Briana is committed to ongoing artistic growth and community engagement. She aspires to a career as a professional performer and advocate, striving to make classical music more accessible, inclusive, and reflective of the diverse world it serves.
