QUINCY EBY VIOLIN
Quincy Alexander Eby 19, commenced his musical journey at age 5 as a violinist under the guidance of Dorothy Kaplan Roffman at the Thurnauer School of Music. At age 12 he added the viola and began studying with Francesca Silos. Quincy has studied with Molly Carr, Yi-Fang Huang at Juilliard’s Pre-College program, Samuel Rhodes, and is currently a member of Carol Rodland’s studio at Juilliard. Quincy is a 2024 Sphinx Competition Semi-Finalist and a Sphinx Performance Academy Mentor Program alumnus at the Curtis Institute of Music. Quincy was a Semi-Finalist at the 2024 Juilliard Pre-College Concerto Competition, a Finalist at the 2023 Adelphi Concerto Competition, and a 2024 From the Top Learning and Media Lab Fellow.
Quincy won the Kutztown International Music Festival’s Concerto Competition making his international debut with the University of Macedonia’s Orchestra in 2023. Quincy is a founding member of the award-winning Thurnauer Quartet who were quarter-finalists in 2023 at Fischoff. Quincy has performed as part of a masterclass with the Ensemble Cremona Quartet, Mostly Mozart at Lincoln Center, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, and the Bowdoin International Music Festival. Quincy received the New Jersey Governor’s Award in Arts Education and a bronze medal as part of the President’s National Youth Volunteer Service Recognition Program.
