SAM MARCHAN VIOLIN/VIOLA
Originally from Merida, Venezuela, Samuel Marchan has over 25 years of experience as a violist, and extensive educational experience in the New York and Venezuelan public schools, where he teaches privately and in small groups. Mr. Marchan was part of El Sistema in Venezuela and is co-founder of the first “núcleo” in his home state. A recipient of the 2005 King Park Chavez Visiting Professorship Award from the University of Michigan, Mr. Marchan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Viola Performance from the Juilliard School and a Master’s Degree in Music Performance from New York University.
