ARLON BENNETT SONGMAKER
Arlon Bennett, songmaker, grew up in Long Island and is currently based in Tappan, NY. His songs have been compared to the paintings of Norman Rockwell, and that is an accurate analogy; many of the folk-rock songs that Bennett has written could easily be described as musical vignettes that vividly depict American life, past and present. Even when he sang about Indian civil rights leader Mahatma Gandhi on his song "Be the Change," there was an element of Americana in his work: Bennett's song noted the parallels between Gandhi's struggles in India and the civil rights contributions of Rosa Parks in the United States. As a Parkinson’s Warrior, Bennett created The Healing Project to prove that music could help to heal and inspire others facing challenges and looking for healing.
