ABIGAIL NISHIWAKI   VIOLIN

Abigail Nishiwaki is from Westchester, NY and studies at Manhattan School of Music Precollege with Elizabeth Faidley. Abigail was the concertmaster of the MSM Precollege Philharmonic Orchestra in the 2017-18 school year and previously served as the principal second violinist of the New York Youth Symphony. As a part of the New York Youth Symphony Chamber Music Program, Abigail has performed in masterclasses with artists including Roger Tapping, Wolfram Koessel, and members of the Shanghai Quartet, among others. Through her teacher’s studio, she has participated in masterclasses with artists including Lisa Batiashvili and Ray Chen. Most recently, Abigail was a finalist at the Bergen Philharmonic Young Artist Competition, won silver at the Bravura Philharmonic Young Artists Concerto Competition, and placed first at the Elite Music and IMO Concerto Debut Competitions.
