MAIA SCHMIDT VIOLIN
Maia Schmidt (violin) is studying violin performance with Peter Winograd at the Manhattan School of Music.
Maia has performed at Manhattan School of Music, Merkin Hall at the Kaufman Center, Carnegie Hall, and
Lincoln Center in New York City, St. Stephen's Cathedral, Salzburg cathedral, and the Esterhazy Castel's Haydnsaal.
In 2016, Maia had her NYC solo recital debut as part of the 92Y Young Concert Artist Series.
Maia has won prestigious awards as a soloist, including top prizes in the American Protege,
NLPA, Vivo International, Rondo Vanguard, and East Coast International Music competitions.
She aslo has a passion for teaching and is on faculty with the Elizabeth Faidley Studio and
at the Elite Academy for Strings. Maia currently plays a Hill bow gifted to her by the late Eleftherious Eleftherakis, former assistant conductor
of the MIT Symphony Orchestra.
