My inspiration for this picture is that I thought the angle would look cool and you wouldn’t be able to tell what instrument it is . I started playing the French horn in 3rd grade after hearing the music from Star Wars when I was little. I didn’t know what instrument it was playing the force theme at the end of a new hope , so I looked it up and started to play the French horn.

The violin provides a platform for unlimited creativity and imagination. By utilizing the technique of light painting, my goal was to convey this through the abstract shapes and light streaks surrounding the violin. The variety of colors involved also represents the wide array of emotions that one can feel by playing or listening to music.

In a negative of a photo the darkest areas appear lightest. This reminds me that there’s always light in the darkest of moments, you just have to see it through :)

Side note* My ukulele, like most, has turned all sad songs into happy ones. It’s just what ukuleles do.

This photo represents my violin's journey of self identity because its maker is unknown. Who made my violin and what kind of experiences has it had before I got it? The mysteries of my violin's past are held within the instrument itself.

This is a photo of my horn from the point of view of my hand inside the bell which coincidentally looks a bit like a black hole.

My flute is surrounded by vines because my flute reminds me of outside because they are both beautiful.

"Dusza"
Violin soundpost is called "the soul". In Polish (dusza), French (âme) and Italian (anima) because it gives the violin the sound we know and love.

The background of the flute looks very calm and relaxing, and when I play my flute I feel the same way.

I took a picture of the label of my flute as it represents my commitment and passion for flute. Getting this flute was the first indication of my dedication to this instrument and I believe the label showcases this.

As I look outside with my instrument, there is always a choice. To work or be out in the freedom of the wilderness….

To me, it looks like a kaleidoscope. It’s a photo through the key hole of my flute and I think it represents that even in the smallest places there can be beauty.

I wanted to create are dark setting that looked mysterious with the use of shadows. Even though the room is dark, there is still light coming through. The light is supposed to represent music and how music can light any situation up.

This photo depicts the enormous opportunity of a violinist and the broad creativeness that comes along.

This is from the last wedding I played before the lock down in 2020 and I haven't done another since. I remember the music, the garden and the beautiful space where I took this photo!

This image shows the journey my flute has bee through. Starting from when I purchased it as a beginning player, through all the times it's been in the shop to get repaired, the performances and the rehearsals that went into them, to now. The deep shadows show some of the aging of my flute, while the softer highlights illuminate the imperfections that give my flute it's own unique sound.

We put the cello and the violin next each other with the bows out like they are shaking hands because the cello and violin go very well together.

This is my violin sleeping because I used to go to sleep listening to music.

This photo captures my instrument in a upright position facing the audience. The rosin dust represents perseverance in practice and the journey I have made with my cello. The open door and staircase in the background serve as a reminder that there is so much more to music and performing that we have yet to discover and enjoy!

Even though my cello is not in pristine condition, it still makes a beautiful sound and is a fantastic instrument.

Remade… Last summer I tripped on something and the scroll/pegbox shattered. I finally got it back in January..

I took a picture of my flute’s keys because to me, they are the most challenging part of playing flute.

My French Grandmother appeared to me in Paris in 1986. Ever since that fateful moment she has been my steadfast and loyal companion, ever true with her pure, deep and resonant voice. I recently found out that she might have been born in 1830! She will no doubt live forever. Thank you, Grandma!!!!

Piano is life.

The bass guitar is unique in that you need an amp for others to hear what is being played. I find it poetic that the bass can say so much and the player can be so vulnerable, but nobody else has to hear the music unless you allow them to.

This photo represents one of the most prominent things in my life. Music. Music has always been something that I’ve had a deep connection with from a young age. It’s the only thing that I enjoy doing that I’d love to make a career out of and plan to. This guitar represents the sweat and tears I’ve put into Music while also representing the amount of time I’ve dedicated to the art.
