“The Story of Tango” introduces audience members and students to the tango - one of the most popular forms of music. The program will trace the history of the dance from a popular social dance which originated in the Rio de Plata between Argentina and Uruguay. This native folk music mixed with the German Waltz, Czech Polka, Polish Mazurka, Spanish-Cuban Habanera, African Candombe, and Argentine Milonga created tango.
