ELIZABETH LIM-DUTTON   VIOLIN

Elizabeth Lim-Dutton is a New York City-based violinist. Classically trained at the Juilliard School (B.M.) and the Yale School of Music (M.M.), she has performed in a wide variety of genres as a soloist, chamber musician and ensemble member in the United States, Europe, the Far East and Australia. Ms. Lim-Dutton regularly performs as a member of Orchestra of St. Luke’s, Stamford Symphony, New York Pops and has also performed with the New Haven Symphony, New York City Ballet, New Jersey Symphony and as a member of Steve Reich & Musicians and the Steve Reich Ensemble. In addition, she has toured the US as Concertmaster for the New York City Opera National Company. Ms. Lim-Dutton has recorded over seventy movie soundtracks and on and off-screen television productions. She has performed in over forty Broadway shows, most recently as a member of the Lincoln Center production of My Fair Lady.



Her solo recordings have been on the ESS.A.Y Label for Philharmonia Virtuosi and Nonesuch for five albums of music by Steve Reich in The Cave, City Life, Three Tales , Daniel Variations and Music for 18 Musicians, a 1998 Grammy Award Winner for Best Performance by Small Ensemble. Ms. Lim-Dutton and her husband, violist Lawrence Dutton have three sons. In 2017, they received the President’s Award from Concordia College for their ongoing involvement with the Hoch Chamber Music Series and in 2020 Ms. Lim-Dutton was appointed the Artistic Director for the UNIQUE Series at Concordia Conservatory which creates musical programs for special learners in the Stamford, Connecticut public school system.
